Today I got to check something off that’s been on my bucket list for a long time…running in The Color Run!!!! (Actually, if I’m being technical, we walk-ran because I had a 6 year old in tow, and I’m pretty certain the “5k” was a 3k, but wharves)
IT WAS A BLAST!!
What’s even better is we did it as a family. I was a little concerned because we were waiting awhile for our ‘group’ to start the race (they let people start in groups every 10 mins. or so. There were A LOT of people!) and my one year old was hot and getting cranky. But once we started going, it was all good! Thing 1 kept up pretty well for being 6. He had a great time!
We kept the colored powder from getting in the baby’s face with a rain cover over the BOB. It worked out because we could lift it in between color stations, then pull it down real quick before people went crazy with the color. And they seriously did get crazy.
I loved this race! There were astronauts, super heroes, tutu madness (gah, the tutus!), and crazy tube socks. We were right on the Rhine River, waving to tour boats as we went. The energy was awesome. It definitely is a happy 5k! What a great way to usher in 31 years of living!!

I think it's amazing that you got to do such a fun race as a family! A few of my sorority sisters just ran the color run in Philadelphia and loved it. I'm hoping to do my first 5k in a few months, and I hope it's as good of an experience as you had!
i LOVE this! it's coming to korea and we can't wait to go do it!
Awesome! It is SO fun! We did have some very weird looks because we brought the baby, though. One guy even said out loud, "People brought babies?! Wth!" I said, "YES I DID, SO WHAT?!" lol I'm glad we did it as a family. Great memories in the making!
Omg, you must!! And take pictures of that! I'd love to see! Where exactly will it be? I need to tell my friend about it who is stationed over there!
