I have had friends and family members ask me about the details concerning Thing 2’s birth since it took so long, but instead of going through the entire story over and over again I figured it would be easier to do a one-stop shop. I must apologize for the length, but giving birth is no simple task. Read if you wish…I know it’s not for everyone.
I am so amazed how that very moment in time can trump every other one in the universe. It is a completely overwhelming moment. All of that love I had been storing up for 9 months was finally in my arms, manifested in 7.2 pounds of perfect baby boy.
I told the nurse that our photographer was on the way, so she took our camera and captured DH cutting the cord. Just one of many examples of how wonderful the staff was to us. After about an hour and a half the family said goodbye and baby was bathed and measured. He officially weighed 7.2 pounds and was 20.5 inches long, very similar to Thing 1’s size. Baby was all limbs, with feet large enough to be a hobbit’s. He was, and still is, perfect in every single way.
